Androsia Scholarships 2026
/IFS is committed to supporting both the local community on Andros and our global community through environmental education, scientific research, and cultural awareness. Beyond our programs, we strive to create opportunities for students and make a lasting positive impact.
Androsia Scholarship Fund
A key part of this commitment is the Androsia Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from Androsia products and IFS merchandise sold at Forfar Field Station directly support scholarships for local Androsian students. Since 2015, IFS has awarded more than $21,000 in scholarships.
This year, two $500 scholarships were awarded to two students attending Huntley Christie School, Anari McQueen and Azariah Pratt. Another two $500 scholarships were awarded to two students from Central Andros High School, Anika Moss and Zaphir Neymour. In addition to these high school students, IFS awarded a final $500 scholarship to Ashley Sargent. Below are their stories.
Anari McQueen
Anari McQueen
I plan to attend the University of The Bahamas and major in Nursing to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Through this program, I hope to develop the knowledge, skills, and hands on experience needed to build a successful and meaningful career in healthcare. My goal is not only to achieve academic success, but also to become a caring and dependable healthcare professional who can make a positive difference in the lives of patients, families, and the wider community. After graduating, I plan to gain hands-on experience by working in my chosen nursing specialty while continuing to strengthen my skills through professional certifications and training opportunities. I also hope to explore different areas of nursing to determine the best fit for my long-term career goals and interests. As I advance in my career, I plan to continue my education by earning a master’s degree in nursing and eventually pursuing a doctorate degree to further expand my opportunities in healthcare and nursing leadership. Through hard work, determination, and continued learning, I hope to become a knowledgeable, compassionate, and highly skilled nurse who inspires others and contributes positively to the healthcare field in The Bahamas.

Anika Moss
Anika Moss
My name is Anika Moss, and I aspire to attend college to further my education and create a better future for myself and my family. I was taught to always aim high. Because of this, I believe that graduating from high school should not be the end of my educational journey. Attending college will allow me to develop new skills, expand my opportunities, and prepare for a successful career. I am interested in pursuing a degree in accounting because I enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and helping others manage their finances responsibly. My interest in accounting developed over time through experiences where I was responsible for handling and keeping track of money in different jobs. These experiences showed me the importance of organization, accuracy, and responsibility, which are all important qualities of an accountant.

Zaphir Nemour
Pursuing a higher education has always been important to me because I, Zaphir Neymour, believe education creates opportunities for a better future. My intended field of study is nursing, and I plan to attend the University of The Bahamas to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Becoming a registered nurse has been a dream of mine because I have a strong passion for helping others and making a positive impact in people’s lives, especially during times when they need care and support the most. I have chosen nursing because I admire the compassion, dedication, and strength nurses demonstrate every day. Nurses play a vital role in healthcare by caring for patients, offering comfort, and supporting individuals through difficult moments in their lives. I aspire to become someone who not only provides medical care but also hope and encouragement to patients and their families. I believe nursing is more than just a profession; it is a calling that requires patience, empathy, responsibility, and commitment.
