Congratulations on your acceptance! We are looking forward to hosting you in our Teacher Workshop (June 26-July 1, 2027) at Forfar Field Station. To better prepare you for your stay, please read the information below:

Trip Information

  • What is included in the training? 5 night stay at Forfar Field Station, meals (one night will be dinner out at a local establishment which participants will pay for ~ $25 a meal), transportation on island, lodging, trip leader and excursions. You’ll have an option for IFS to purchase your Nassau to Andros flight for $350.

  • If you would like IFS to purchase your round trip flight from Nassau to Andros, payment can be completed by:

    • Check: mailing a check to our office located at 1550 Old Henderson Road, Suite E268, Columbus, Ohio 43220; make all checks out to ‘International Field Studies, Inc.’

    • Zelle: We also accept Zelle payments. There is not a fee for paying with Zelle. If this is your preferred method, please send your payment to mike@intlfieldstudies.org

    • Credit Card: If you would like to pay with a Credit Card you can pay through a PayPal link. If you prefer this method let us know and we will send you a link.

  • Passport: A valid Passport is required to enter The Bahamas. Passports must not expire within 6 months of the dates you will be staying in The Bahamas or they will prohibit entry. Please contact the IFS office immediately if you do not have a passport or if it expires within the next few months.

  • Travel and Flights: YOU CANNOT PURCHASE FLIGHTS INTO NASSAU. Once given the go ahead to purchase flights please see below for flight specifications into Nassau.

    • You must arrive in Nassau, BS (Lynden Pindling International Airport) by 12:45 pm on June 26th. Your flight home can leave Nassau, BS anytime after 11:00 am on July 1st. If you need/want to arrive a day early we recommend you stay at The Orange Hill Inn.

    • BAGGAGE POLICY - Flights from Nassau to Andros

      • Free: 1 suitcase up to 40lbs and not exceeding a total of 62 inches (length+width+height), and 1 backpack under 15 lbs

      • Extra Bag: 1 additional suitcase under 40lbs and not exceeding a total of 62in (length+width+height)

      • Extra Pounds: If your suitcase weighs over 40lbs, there will be a $5 fee per pound up to 60lbs.

      BAGS CANNOT WEIGH MORE THAN 60 lbs - Porters will not lift more than 60lbs.

      • We strongly encourage that you purchase travel insurance for your flights and/or research the rescheduling/cancellation policy of the airline in which you choose to fly. Delta and American Airlines have frequent flights into Nassau and may be a good option for your trip. We do not recommend booking your flights with third-party services such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc. as these services have very strict cancellation/rescheduling policies.

  • Forms: All forms are due April 26, 2027 and listed below. Some of the forms are online and some are paper. Please be sure to scan or take a photo of the medical consent form and email the form to office@intlfieldstudies.org. Note: the Medical Consent form requires a notary. (for US citizens)

  • Diving: If you are already certified and would like to do a morning dive at the field station, please contact Katelyn at office@intlfieldstudies.org.

  • How will we receive updates about this trip? The IFS office will send updates, announcements, and travel details via email.
