The IFS field study experience at the Forfar Field Station on Andros Island, The Bahamas, was a great learning experience. The field station was right on the beach, and we went on excursions to coral reefs, island blue holes, and other attractions on the island every day. As someone who is interested in doing marine science in the future, learning about coastal and island ecosystems was a helpful exposure to the field. In addition, the frequent snorkeling trips to the various spectacular reefs gave us an idea of what it would be like to have a research job in the marine sciences. Overall, I learned a lot on the trip; it is one of the reasons why I am still studying marine science today.
